1. LM2904ADMR2G Substitution Conclusion The LM2904ADMR2G can generally serve as a replacement for the LM358AST in standard industrial applications, but with critical limitations that make it unsuitable for stringent automotive or high-precision scenarios. The key differences are as follows: First, its maximum supply voltage is 26 V, lower than the original part’s 30 V, preventing direct substitution in circuits operating near 30 V. Second, its input offset voltage (2 mV) and input bias current (45 nA) are both inferior to those of the original part (1 mV, 20 nA), which will degrade the accuracy of DC amplification circuits and increase error. Finally, and most importantly, it lacks the AEC‑Q100 automotive qualification of the original part, and therefore must not be used in automotive or any other applications requiring reliability grading. Its gain bandwidth product (1 MHz) and package (8‑MSOP) remain compatible with the original part.
2. LM2904VDMR2G Substitution Conclusion The LM2904VDMR2G is not suitable as a general‑purpose substitute for the LM358AST.
