1. LM358DT Substitution Conclusion
The LM358DT cannot serve as a replacement for the LT1213CS8, as there is an order-of-magnitude gap in their key performance parameters. Direct substitution would severely degrade system performance. The LM358DT's gain-bandwidth product (1.1 MHz) and slew rate (0.6 V/µs) are significantly lower than those of the LT1213 (28 MHz, 12 V/µs). This results in severe distortion when processing high-frequency or fast-changing signals due to insufficient bandwidth. Furthermore, its input offset voltage (2 mV) is more than an order of magnitude higher than the LT1213's (150 µV). This introduces unacceptable error in any application requiring DC precision or small-signal amplification. The LM358DT is only suitable for applications with minimal speed, bandwidth, and accuracy requirements and cannot function as a performance-equivalent substitute for the LT1213CS8.
2. TS512AIDT Substitution Conclusion
Similarly, the TS512AIDT cannot directly replace the LT1213CS8. While its performance exceeds that of the LM358DT, it remains markedly inferior to the original part and fails to meet the performance expectations of the original design. The TS512AIDT's gain-bandwidth product (3 MHz) and slew rate (1.5 V/µs) are nearly ten times lower than the LT1213's. This limits its application to frequencies above the mid-audio range or to medium-speed analog signal processing, causing significant high-frequency roll-off and inadequate dynamic performance. Its input offset voltage (500 µV) is over three times that of the LT1213, degrading system DC accuracy and signal conditioning fidelity. Although it carries automotive-grade qualification, the downgrade in core performance metrics means it can only be considered as an alternative in systems where performance requirements are substantially relaxed, not as a direct, equivalent replacement.
