1. TL082BCD Substitution Conclusion The TL082BCD can functionally replace the LF412CDRE4 in most general-purpose JFET op-amp applications, but key differences must be noted: its input offset voltage (2 mV) is significantly higher than that of the LF412 (500 µV), which may introduce greater error in signal conditioning circuits requiring high DC accuracy, such as sensor amplifiers. Additionally, its supply voltage range (10–30 V) is narrower than that of the LF412 (7–36 V), limiting its suitability in low-voltage or high-voltage supply scenarios. However, the TL082BCD offers lower input bias current (30 pA) and lower quiescent current (1.4 mA per channel)—only 31% of the LF412’s—making it more suitable for high-impedance signal sources or low-power designs. If the application is not sensitive to offset voltage and operates within a 10–30 V supply range, the TL082BCD can serve as a direct replacement, offering advantages in lower power consumption and cost.
2. TL082ID Substitution Conclusion The substitution feasibility of the TL082ID is similar to that of the TL082BCD, but with performance trade-offs: its input offset voltage increases further to 3 mV, resulting in the poorest DC accuracy among the compared devices. However, its gain-bandwidth product (4 MHz) is slightly higher than that of the LF412 (3 MHz), and its output drive capability (40 mA) is significantly stronger, making it suitable for applications that must drive capacitive or low-impedance loads. Like the TL082BCD, it is limited by a narrower supply range (10–30 V) and higher offset voltage compared to the LF412. Therefore, it is not recommended for precision amplification or ultra-wide supply voltage systems. If the application prioritizes bandwidth, output drive capability, or low power consumption (1.4 mA per channel), and can tolerate higher offset error, the TL082ID can serve as a cost-effective alternative.
