Consequently, its response will be much slower when processing higher frequency or fast-changing signals, potentially leading to waveform distortion or longer settling times. Its primary advantage is a lower quiescent current (700 µA vs. 1.4 mA per channel), which is beneficial for battery-powered devices. 2. LM224DR2G Substitution Conclusion
This part is essentially a drop-in replacement, but attention must be paid to the impact of input bias current. The LM224DR2G is highly consistent with the original LM224DG4 in key characteristics: supply range, output current, and package are fully matched. The main differences are a slightly lower gain-bandwidth product (1 MHz vs. 1.2 MHz), which is negligible for most general-purpose amplifier circuits, and an input bias current several times higher (90 nA vs. 20 nA). In circuits employing high-value feedback or input resistors (e.g., sensor interfaces, integrators), the DC error voltage (offset) caused by this current will increase significantly, potentially affecting system accuracy. If the application circuit is not sensitive to input bias current (e.g., uses lower resistor values, AC coupling, or has low precision requirements), the LM224DR2G is a suitable substitute.
