The key performance differences are as follows: The gain-bandwidth product (GBWP) of the BA10358FJ-GE2 (500 kHz) is only half that of the LM258DG4 (1.1 MHz), and its slew rate (0.2 V/µs) is lower. This results in a slower response when processing high-frequency or fast-changing signals, potentially leading to output waveform distortion and increased settling time. Its input bias current (45 nA) is 125% higher than the original part's 20 nA. When amplifying signals from high-impedance sources, this will introduce greater DC offset error. Furthermore, the BA10358FJ-GE2's output drive capability (20 mA) is only half that of the LM258DG4 (40 mA). This may render it incapable of driving the same loads, such as relays or LED arrays.
