1. BA2904F-E2 Substitution Conclusion
Direct substitution is not recommended. The BA2904F-E2 is inferior to the original part in key dynamic performance parameters: its slew rate (0.2 V/µs) is lower than the original's 0.3 V/µs, and its gain-bandwidth product (500 kHz) is also lower than the original's 700 kHz. This results in slower response and degraded performance when processing fast-changing signals or in applications requiring higher closed-loop bandwidth. Furthermore, its output drive capability (30 mA) is lower than the original's 40 mA, giving it weaker load-driving capacity. Additionally, its package body width (4.40 mm) is greater than the original's SOIC package (3.90 mm), posing a risk of physical installation incompatibility. Although its supply voltage range upper limit is slightly higher (32V), the downgrade in core performance disqualifies it as a drop-in replacement. It may only be cautiously considered for very low-end, static applications with no requirements for speed or drive capability.
2. LM358ADR2G Substitution Conclusion
This device can serve as a direct substitute in most applications, but the resulting performance shifts must be noted. The key differences are: its gain-bandwidth product is increased to 1 MHz (an improvement over the original's 700 kHz), which benefits high-frequency small-signal processing; however, its input bias current is increased to 45 nA (significantly higher than the original's 15 nA). This will lead to greater DC error in applications with high-impedance signal sources. Concurrently, its quiescent current is increased to 800 µA (higher than the original's 500 µA), which is disadvantageous for extremely low-power designs such as battery-powered systems. The two parts are essentially consistent in package, supply voltage range, and output current capability. Substitution is acceptable in general-purpose applications where signal source impedance is not high, power consumption is not critical, and the higher bandwidth may be beneficial. For circuits with stringent requirements on input error or power consumption, a re-evaluation is necessary.
