1. BA10358F-E1 Substitution Conclusion The BA10358F-E1 is compatible with the original LP358D in terms of core supply voltage range (3-32V) and pin package (8-SOIC), providing the basic conditions for direct substitution. Key differences are noted: bandwidth and slew rate are significantly improved (GBW: 100kHz → 500kHz, Slew Rate: 0.05V/µs → 0.2V/µs), making its performance far superior to the original part when handling higher frequency or faster-changing signals. However, its quiescent current consumption increases substantially (Supply Current: 54µA → 700µA), which is a significant drawback for power-sensitive applications such as battery-powered systems. Additionally, the input bias current is higher (2nA → 45nA), which may degrade accuracy when interfacing with high-impedance signal sources. Substitution is suitable in non-battery-powered applications requiring higher signal bandwidth and speed, where input bias current is not critical. It is not recommended in applications prioritizing low power consumption and high precision.
2. BA2904F-E2 Substitution Conclusion The BA2904F-E2 is also compatible with the LP358D in supply voltage and package, providing the physical basis for direct replacement. It shares the same high-performance bandwidth and slew rate as the BA10358F-E1 (GBW: 500kHz, Slew Rate: 0.2V/µs), significantly outperforming the original part. Key improvements include: better input bias current compared to the BA10358F-E1 (20nA vs. 45nA), closer to the original part (2nA), resulting in less impact on precision; and a quiescent current between the two (500µA), which, while still much higher than the original, is lower than that of the BA10358F-E1. Additionally, it offers stronger output drive capability (30mA). For most general-purpose applications requiring improved signal processing speed and bandwidth, and where moderate increase in power consumption is acceptable, the BA2904F-E2 is a better alternative than the BA10358F-E1. However, it remains unsuitable for applications with strict microamp-level quiescent current requirements.
