1. AS324AMTR-E1 Substitution Conclusion Direct substitution is not recommended. The AS324AMTR-E1 is a general-purpose operational amplifier and exhibits significant differences in key performance parameters compared to the original part, the AD8684ARZ-REEL (a JFET-input amplifier). Its input bias current (20 nA vs. 6 pA) is over three orders of magnitude higher, which would introduce substantially greater input current error in applications involving high-impedance signal sources or precision integrators. Its input offset voltage (2 mV vs. 350 µV) is roughly six times less precise, severely impacting the accuracy of DC signal measurements. Furthermore, while the original part specifies a gain-bandwidth product (3.5 MHz) and slew rate (9 V/µs), these parameters are not provided for the AS324. Typically, its bandwidth and speed performance are far inferior to the AD8684, making it unsuitable for circuits requiring specific frequency response or fast transient response. Substitution could only be considered in non-critical circuits where precision, speed, and input current requirements are extremely relaxed, and where only power supply range (3-36V) and package compatibility are of primary concern.
2. AS324AMTR-G1 Substitution Conclusion Direct substitution is not recommended, and the conclusion is identical to that for the AS324AMTR-E1. The AS324AMTR-G1 shares identical technical specifications with the AS324AMTR-E1 (both are general-purpose op-amps with 20 nA input bias current and 2 mV offset voltage). Any distinction between the two, indicated by the "-G1" versus "-E1" suffix, is likely related to non-technical factors such as the manufacturer's internal coding or environmental compliance standards. Consequently, it faces the same substantial performance gap relative to the original JFET-input amplifier AD8684 in terms of input characteristics, precision, and speed. It cannot meet the performance requirements intended by the original design and should only be considered as an alternative under the same limited conditions described above.
