1. AD712KRZ-REEL7 Substitution Conclusion The AD712KRZ-REEL7 is a viable conditional functional substitute for the original OPA2131UAE4, as it matches the package, channel count, supply voltage range, and bandwidth. Key differences must be noted: First, its input bias current (25 pA) is five times higher than the original's (5 pA), and its input offset voltage (300 µV) is also slightly elevated. In applications demanding extremely high input impedance and precision, such as precision sensor amplification or integrator circuits, this may introduce greater DC error and temperature drift. Second, its slew rate (20 V/µs) is double that of the original part (10 V/µs), providing superior large-signal response for fast-changing signals. Therefore, it can serve as a substitute in AC applications like audio or filtering, where dynamic performance is critical and input precision requirements are relatively relaxed. However, its use in high-precision DC or low-frequency measurement circuits requires careful evaluation.
2. MC33072ADR2G Substitution Conclusion The MC33072ADR2G is not recommended as a direct replacement for the OPA2131UAE4 due to a fundamental difference in input stage architecture. The critical distinction is that the MC33072 is a standard bipolar-input op-amp. Its input bias current (100 nA) is nearly 20,000 times higher than that of the JFET-input OPA2131 (5 pA). This will cause significant input current error in applications with high-impedance signal sources and can potentially render the circuit inoperative. Furthermore, its input offset voltage (500 µV) is substantially worse. While it offers a wider supply range, slightly higher output current, and marginally better bandwidth, these advantages do not compensate for the fundamental disparity in input characteristics. It is only suitable for general-purpose applications where input impedance and precision are not critical and cannot fulfill the high-impedance, low-bias-current application scenarios for which the original JFET op-amp was intended.
