1. AD8001ARTZ-REEL7 Substitution Conclusion
Direct substitution is not recommended. While it offers higher -3dB bandwidth (795 MHz) and slew rate (1200 V/µs), it is a current-feedback amplifier (CFA), fundamentally different from the original part's voltage-feedback (VFA) architecture. Its bandwidth is not independent of closed-loop gain in application and is highly sensitive to feedback resistor values. A direct replacement would completely alter the circuit's frequency response, stability, and gain accuracy, necessitating a full recalculation and verification of the design. Furthermore, its minimum operating voltage (6V) is higher than the original's (5V), making it incompatible with a 5V single-supply system. Its lower output drive current (70mA) may fail to meet the original design's load requirements. The different package (SOT-23-5) also requires PCB re-layout.
2. LT1395CS8PBF Substitution Conclusion
Direct substitution is not recommended. Although its package (8-SOIC) and supply voltage range (4V to 12V) are compatible with the original part, and its quiescent current is lower, the core discrepancy remains its current-feedback architecture. This differs from the original VFA's operation and compensation principles, and a direct swap would alter the circuit's AC characteristics. Additionally, its specified -3dB bandwidth (400 MHz) and slew rate (800 V/µs) are both lower than the original part's, which could lead to degraded bandwidth and transient response performance in high-speed signal processing applications. While it holds a slight advantage in DC precision (1mV input offset voltage), this does not compensate for the mismatch in architecture and critical dynamic performance parameters.
