1. AS358AMTR-G1 Substitution Conclusion
The AS358AMTR-G1 is not a viable direct substitute for the RC4580ID, particularly in audio or performance‑critical applications. While both share a compatible package (8‑SOIC) and supply voltage range, their core performance parameters differ fundamentally.
The RC4580ID, designed as an audio amplifier, offers a gain‑bandwidth product (12 MHz) and slew rate (5 V/µs) far exceeding those of the general‑purpose op‑amp AS358AMTR‑G1 (whose typical values are approximately 1 MHz and 0.5 V/µs, respectively). The AS358’s inadequate high‑frequency response and large‑signal speed would severely limit bandwidth and increase distortion in audio circuits.
Moreover, the AS358’s input offset voltage (2 mV) is four times that of the RC4580 (500 µV). This introduces significant error in circuits demanding high DC accuracy, such as microphone preamplifiers.
Although the AS358 holds a clear advantage in quiescent current (700 µA versus 6 mA), the sacrifice in key audio and precision performance restricts its use to very‑low‑frequency or non‑critical general‑purpose circuits where bandwidth, speed, and accuracy are of minimal concern. It cannot meet the original design’s audio‑fidelity requirements.
