Both are 5V-powered, half-duplex, single-transmitter/single-receiver RS-422/485 transceivers with pin-compatible packages, allowing for direct physical replacement. Two critical technical differences must be carefully evaluated: First, the data rate of the ISL83082EIUZ-T (115 kbps) is significantly lower than that of the original device (200 kbps).
