1. LM358D Substitution Conclusion Direct substitution is entirely non-viable. The LM358D is a general-purpose, low-bandwidth voltage-feedback operational amplifier, whereas the THS3062DDAG3 is an ultra-high-speed, wide-bandwidth current-feedback operational amplifier. There exists a performance gap of several orders of magnitude between the two in core specifications: the gain-bandwidth product (2.2 GHz) and slew rate (7000 V/µs) of the THS3062 are approximately 3000 times and 23,000 times greater, respectively, than those of the LM358D (700 kHz, 0.3 V/µs). The LM358D is completely incapable of handling the high-speed signal amplification or pulse applications for which the THS3062 is designed. Furthermore, the output drive capability of the THS3062 (145 mA) far exceeds that of the LM358D (40 mA), and its input offset voltage accuracy (700 µV) is significantly superior to the latter's (3 mV). In any application requiring high speed, wide bandwidth, and strong drive capability—such as video driving, high-speed data acquisition, or communication interfaces—directly replacing the THS3062 with the LM358D will result in complete circuit failure.
2. LM258D Substitution Conclusion Direct substitution is entirely non-viable. The LM258D belongs to the same general-purpose op-amp family as the LM358D, with highly similar performance parameters and only a marginally improved gain-bandwidth product (1.1 MHz). An insurmountable generational gap exists between it and the THS3062DDAG3 in critical high-speed performance metrics: its slew rate (0.3 V/µs) and bandwidth (on the order of MHz) are severely inadequate compared to those of the THS3062 (7000 V/µs, GHz level), which fundamentally prevents it from responding to high-frequency or fast-changing signals. Concurrently, its output current drive capability (40 mA) and input precision (3 mV offset) are also far inferior to those of the THS3062. Although their supply voltage ranges overlap, their performance characteristics are fundamentally distinct. Replacing the THS3062 with the LM258D will cause all performance dependent on high speed and wide bandwidth to be lost, rendering the circuit inoperable.
