1. LF347D Substitution Conclusion
The LF347D can serve as a direct replacement for the TL064CDE4 in most applications, though the impact of increased power consumption must be evaluated. Both are JFET-input quad operational amplifiers from Texas Instruments with compatible pinouts. The LF347D offers significantly superior dynamic performance (13 V/µs slew rate vs. 3.5 V/µs, 3 MHz bandwidth vs. 1 MHz) and output drive capability (40 mA vs. 20 mA), enabling faster signal response.
The primary trade-off is the supply current, which increases dramatically from 200 µA per channel for the TL064 to 8 mA per channel for the LF347D. Under the same supply voltage, this results in a total quiescent power dissipation increase by several orders of magnitude. This can lead to elevated device temperature and higher overall system power consumption. Careful assessment is therefore required in power-sensitive or battery-operated applications.
Differences in other parameters, such as input bias current (50 pA vs. 30 pA) and input offset voltage (5 mV vs. 3 mV), remain within the typical range for JFET op-amps and generally do not affect basic functionality.
2. TS514IDT Substitution Conclusion
The TS514IDT is not a suitable equivalent or direct replacement for the TL064CDE4. A fundamental difference in input stage architecture can lead to circuit performance degradation or outright failure. While the package is compatible and the gain-bandwidth product (3 MHz) is similar, the core issue is that the TS514IDT is a "standard" (bipolar transistor input) op-amp.
Its input bias current is specified at 50 nA, which is approximately three orders of magnitude (about 1600 times) higher than the JFET input bias current of the TL064 (30 pA). In any application involving high-impedance signal sources, integrators, or precision circuits requiring minimal input current, the TS514IDT would introduce substantial input current error, fundamentally altering the circuit's operating point.
Furthermore, its slew rate (1.5 V/µs) is lower than that of the original part. Substitution is not viable unless the circuit is exceptionally insensitive to input impedance and bias current requirements.
