1. MC33172VDR2G Substitution Conclusion Direct substitution is not recommended. The MC33172VDR2G exhibits fundamental technical differences from the original TL082ACDRG4: its amplifier type is "Standard" (typically bipolar transistor input) as opposed to J-FET. This results in a significantly higher input bias current of 20 nA, nearly three orders of magnitude greater than the TL082's 30 pA. Consequently, it is unsuitable for high-impedance signal sources and will introduce substantial error in applications requiring high input impedance, such as sensor interfaces and integrator circuits. Furthermore, its slew rate (2.1 V/µs) and gain-bandwidth product (1.8 MHz) are both lower than those of the TL082 (13 V/µs, 3 MHz), leading to degraded performance in high-speed signal processing applications. Although it offers advantages like a wider supply voltage range (3-44V) and lower quiescent power consumption, these benefits do not compensate for its deficiencies in critical input characteristics and frequency response. Therefore, it is not a compatible substitute for the TL082.
2. AD8512ARZ-REEL Substitution Conclusion This device can serve as a high-performance upgrade replacement, but power supply compatibility and stability must be verified. The AD8512ARZ-REEL also utilizes J-FET input and offers superior performance across key parameters compared to the original TL082: its input bias current (25 pA) is comparable, but its input offset voltage (100 µV) is far lower than the TL082's (3 mV), enabling higher DC accuracy. Its slew rate (20 V/µs) and gain-bandwidth product (8 MHz) are also significantly higher, providing better large-signal handling and high-speed response capabilities. Additionally, it features a stronger output drive current (70 mA). The power supply voltage range (10-30V) is compatible between the two. The AD8512 can deliver lower distortion, faster transient response, and higher precision in applications originally designed for the TL082, making it a "pin-compatible performance upgrade" option. During replacement, note that its higher bandwidth may amplify high-frequency noise or introduce stability issues in the circuit; verification in the target application is advised.
