1. LT1355CS8TRPBF Substitution Conclusion
Direct substitution carries high risk and is not recommended. While the package is compatible and the gain-bandwidth product is similar, the core amplifier architecture shifts from J-FET to voltage feedback. This results in an input bias current (80nA vs. 20pA) that is 4000 times higher, introducing significant input current error in applications such as high-impedance sensors, integrators, or precision I-V converters. This completely negates the ultra-low input current advantage inherent to the original part's J-FET input stage. Furthermore, its output drive capability (30mA) is slightly weaker, and its minimum operating voltage (5V) is marginally higher than the original part's 4.5V, imposing further constraints for low-voltage systems. Substitution should only be considered after rigorous validation, and only in circuits where input bias current is extremely non-critical, and where its higher slew rate (400V/µs) and lower quiescent current are deemed advantageous.
2. AD8620BRZ-REEL7 Substitution Conclusion
This part serves as an excellent performance upgrade, provided the power supply voltage is within its specified range. It retains the J-FET input architecture and surpasses the original part in all key precision and speed parameters: it offers lower input offset voltage (45µV vs. 700µV) and lower input bias current (3pA vs. 20pA), delivering significantly improved DC accuracy. Its higher gain-bandwidth product (25 MHz vs. 10 MHz) and slew rate (60V/µs vs. 40V/µs) enable wider bandwidth and faster transient response. The primary limitation is its narrower supply voltage range (10V to 26V) compared to the original part (4.5V to 38V). This precludes its use in single-supply 5V systems or dual-supply systems exceeding ±13V. For any application where the power supply design falls within its specified range, the AD8620 is an ideal drop-in replacement for enhancing overall system performance.
