1. LMV321LICT Substitution Conclusion
The LMV321LICT is physically compatible with the original LMV861MGX in terms of package (SC70-5) and supply voltage range (2.7V–5.5V), enabling a drop-in replacement. However, significant differences in key performance parameters make the substitution highly application-dependent. The LMV321LICT has a much lower gain-bandwidth product (1.3 MHz) and slew rate (0.7 V/µs) compared to the LMV861MGX (31 MHz and 20 V/µs), which limits its ability to handle high-frequency signals or fast transients and may cause waveform distortion. Additionally, the LMV321LICT exhibits substantially higher input bias current (27 nA) and input offset voltage (1 mV) — several orders of magnitude greater than those of the original part (0.1 pA and 273 µV) — introducing larger DC errors and making it unsuitable for high-precision sensing or low-level signal amplification circuits. On the other hand, the LMV321LICT has a notably lower quiescent current (130 µA), which benefits low-power designs, though its output drive capability (70 mA) is weaker and may limit load compatibility. Substitution may be acceptable in applications involving only low-frequency, non-precision, low-power general-purpose signal conditioning with relaxed dynamic performance requirements. In scenarios demanding high bandwidth, high precision, or fast response, however, replacing the LMV861MGX with the LMV321LICT will degrade system performance or even lead to functional failure.
