As a dual op‑amp with a standard bipolar input stage, it outperforms or fully matches the original part in key parameters: its operating voltage range (3 V to 44 V) completely covers and exceeds that of the original (3 V to 32 V); its quiescent current (220 µA) is significantly lower, contributing to power savings; and both gain‑bandwidth product (1.8 MHz) and slew rate (2.1 V/µs) are several times higher, enabling faster signal response and wider bandwidth. Although its output current (27 mA) is somewhat lower than the original’s (40 mA), it remains adequate for most general‑purpose amplification and signal conditioning circuits. The only notable difference is its slightly higher input offset voltage (2 mV), which may require evaluation in applications with extremely high DC precision requirements. For the vast majority of uses, this device represents an almost perfect drop‑in upgrade.
