1. OP42GSZ-RL Substitution Conclusion The OP42GSZ-RL is not recommended as a direct replacement due to low feasibility of substitution. Although it shares the same J-FET amplifier architecture and package compatibility with the original part, several critical differences exist. First, its minimum operating voltage (16 V) is significantly higher than that of the original part (4.5 V), making it completely unsuitable for single-supply or low-voltage applications. Second, its input offset voltage (1.5 mV) is more than three times that of the original (490 µV), which will noticeably degrade DC accuracy. Finally, its quiescent current (5.1 mA) is approximately three times higher, increasing system power consumption. Additionally, the device lacks AEC‑Q100 automotive qualification and cannot meet the reliability requirements of automotive electronics applications.
2. LT1008S8TRPBF Substitution Conclusion The LT1008S8TRPBF has low feasibility as a direct substitute and is not recommended for replacement. The most fundamental difference lies in its amplifier type: it is a “standard” (i.e., bipolar‑input) amplifier, not a J‑FET input type like the original. As a result, its input bias current (100 pA), while good, is still an order of magnitude higher than the original (20 pA), and it loses the characteristic ultra‑high input impedance advantage of J‑FETs. Moreover, its slew rate (0.2 V/µs) is more than two orders of magnitude lower than the original (45 V/µs), severely limiting its ability to handle fast‑changing signals and making it unsuitable for any speed‑sensitive applications. Although it offers advantages in input offset voltage (30 µV) and supply voltage range (4 V–36 V), and an automotive‑grade version is available, the fundamental architectural and performance gaps prevent it from fulfilling the original part’s intended application role.
