1. MC4558CDT Substitution Conclusion
Direct substitution is not recommended. The MC4558CDT is significantly inferior to the original part in key precision and speed parameters: its input offset voltage (1 mV) is an order of magnitude higher than that of the ADA4075-2ARZ-RL (200 µV). In DC or low-frequency amplification applications, this will introduce substantially larger static error and temperature drift, severely degrading system accuracy. Its slew rate (2.2 V/µs) is far lower than that of the original part (12 V/µs), leading to more severe distortion when processing fast-changing signals such as pulses or high-frequency sine waves; its bandwidth (5.5 MHz) is also slightly lower. This device may only be marginally acceptable in general-purpose audio or signal buffering circuits where precision and speed requirements are minimal and cost sensitivity is high. It cannot meet the needs of the precision, medium-bandwidth applications for which the original part was intended.
2. TL072ACDT Substitution Conclusion
Substitution can be cautiously evaluated under specific conditions, but involves critical performance trade‑offs. As a JFET‑input op‑amp, the TL072ACDT offers ultra‑low input bias current (20 pA), which is far superior to the BJT‑input original part (30 nA). This is a major advantage for high‑impedance signal sources such as photoelectric sensors, and its slew rate (16 V/µs) is higher. However, its input offset voltage (3 mV) is 15 times higher than that of the original part (200 µV)—the most critical difference. In applications requiring high DC accuracy, such as precision measurement or instrumentation amplification, this would directly result in unacceptable error. Additionally, its gain‑bandwidth product (4 MHz) is lower. Substitution should be considered only when the circuit is extremely sensitive to input bias current, when the high offset voltage can be overcome by external nulling or other means (or when DC accuracy is not critical to the application), and when cost or automotive‑grade certification is a requirement. Otherwise, it is not recommended.
