1. AP358SG-13 Substitution Conclusion The AP358SG-13 is not a suitable direct replacement for the ADA4062-2ARZ-RL. It may only be considered for a limited number of generic applications that do not rely on the original part's high input impedance, high precision, and low power consumption characteristics. Even in such cases, its use carries a significant risk of performance degradation or circuit failure. The key differences are as follows: Input Stage Architecture: The AP358SG-13 is a standard BJT-input amplifier with an input bias current of 45 nA. This is four orders of magnitude higher than the 2 pA bias current of the JFET-input ADA4062. In any application with a non-negligible source impedance (e.g., photodiode conditioning, high-impedance sensor interfacing), this will generate substantial input offset voltage errors, potentially rendering the circuit non-functional. Precision: The AP358SG-13 exhibits significantly lower DC accuracy. Its input offset voltage (2 mV) is 2.7 times greater than that of the original part (750 µV), directly increasing DC error at the output. Power Consumption: The quiescent current of the AP358SG-13 (1 mA) is approximately three times the total supply current of the ADA4062 (330 µA). Dynamic Performance: Furthermore, the slew rate of the AP358SG-13 is unspecified and is typically far inferior to the ADA4062's 3.3 V/µs, resulting in poorer large-signal dynamic response.
2. LM358ADR2G Substitution Conclusion The LM358ADR2G shares core parameters highly similar to the AP358SG-13 and is likewise unsuitable as a replacement for the ADA4062-2ARZ-RL. It can only serve as a general-purpose, low-performance dual op-amp and cannot provide equivalent functionality in applications where the key advantages of the original part are critical. Its disqualifying differences from the target part are identical and equally severe: Fundamental Input Stage Mismatch: The BJT-input architecture of the LM358 results in a high input bias current (45 nA). This completely forfeits the core advantage of the JFET-input ADA4062: near-zero input current and ultra-high input impedance. Consequently, it is incapable of properly processing micro-current or high-impedance signals. Insufficient DC Precision: Its input offset voltage (2 mV) is substantially worse than the original part's, making it unsuitable for precision amplification circuits. Higher Power Draw: Its quiescent current (total 800 µA) is still more than double that of the original part. While the LM358ADR2G offers superficial compatibility in supply voltage range and package, these factors do not compensate for the fundamental performance gap created by the input stage disparity.
