1. LM258P Substitution Conclusion
The LM258P, as a general-purpose dual operational amplifier, cannot serve as a direct substitute for the MUSES01, which is a dedicated audio-grade op-amp. The key differences are as follows: the LM258P exhibits a significantly lower slew rate (0.3 V/µs) and gain-bandwidth product (700 kHz) compared to the MUSES01 (12 V/µs, 3.3 MHz). This results in inadequate high-frequency response when processing audio signals, potentially leading to dynamic distortion and loss of detail. Furthermore, the LM258P's input bias current (20 nA) is two orders of magnitude higher than that of the MUSES01 (200 pA), and its input offset voltage (3 mV) is also substantially greater (MUSES01: 800 µV). These characteristics introduce larger DC errors and noise, significantly degrading the fidelity and signal-to-noise ratio of an audio system. Although both devices are pin-compatible and share partial overlap in supply voltage ranges, the substantial gap in core performance parameters renders the LM258P suitable only for non-audio, general-purpose amplification applications with minimal bandwidth and precision requirements. It cannot meet the design criteria for high-fidelity audio circuits.
