1. SA6-10 Substitution Conclusion
Direct substitution is not recommended. While the SA6-10 matches the Original Part SA18SS-10 in core parameters such as attenuation value, power handling, and impedance, a critical difference exists: its operational frequency is limited to 6 GHz, whereas the Original Part supports frequencies up to 18 GHz. If the actual application frequency exceeds 6 GHz (e.g., in Ku-band or certain C/X-band applications), the SA6-10 will fail to function properly. Its attenuation will deviate from the nominal specification, and insertion loss and matching performance will degrade significantly. This could lead to signal distortion or failure to meet system performance requirements.
2. FMAT7466-10 Substitution Conclusion
Substitution is feasible for applications at or below 12 GHz, provided interface compatibility is verified. The FMAT7466-10 differs from the Original Part in two key aspects. First, its frequency range tops out at 12 GHz, lower than the Original Part's 18 GHz, rendering it unusable in the 12 GHz to 18 GHz band. Second, it uses SMA connectors, while the Original Part employs the smaller SSMA type. Although SMA and SSMA connectors are typically mechanically incompatible due to differing pin dimensions, the description "SMA In-Line Module" may refer to its overall package interface. The user must verify whether its port configuration physically matches the system interface. If the physical connection can be resolved and the system's maximum operating frequency does not exceed 12 GHz, this part meets the electrical performance requirements for substitution.
