1. SA6S5W-03 Substitution Conclusion
This part is a viable substitute and represents a performance upgrade. Compared to the original SA3S5W-03, the key technical difference of the SA6S5W-03 is its extended frequency range, which has been increased from 3 GHz to 6 GHz, while critical parameters such as attenuation value, power handling capacity, and impedance remain identical. The SA6S5W-03 fully covers the operational frequency band of the original part and additionally provides the capability to function normally at higher frequencies (DC to 6 GHz). If your application frequency does not exceed 3 GHz, the electrical performance post-substitution will be completely identical, and the system will have greater frequency margin. This constitutes a directly compatible, enhanced replacement.
2. FMAT7460-3 Substitution Conclusion
This part is a viable substitute and qualifies as a high-performance alternative. The difference between the FMAT7460-3 and the original SA3S5W-03 similarly lies in the frequency range; it supports an extremely wide bandwidth from 0 Hz to 12.4 GHz, while parameters for attenuation, power, and impedance are the same. The FMAT7460-3 can cover a broader spectrum of RF applications, including the original 3 GHz band, and performs particularly well in systems involving L-band, S-band, and even higher frequencies. In applications originally below 3 GHz, it can serve as a seamless drop-in replacement and provide excellent frequency performance headroom. However, such wideband components typically come at a higher cost. If the system will never operate at high frequencies, this portion of the performance remains untapped.
