However, key differences include a significantly reduced output drive capability (5 mA versus 45 mA) and a slightly higher input bias current (5 pA versus 1 pA). The OPA379 is suitable only for signal conditioning applications with microcurrent loads, such as driving high-impedance ADCs. If the original circuit drives LEDs, relays, or low-resistance loads, direct substitution will result in circuit failure. Its lower quiescent current (2.9 µA) can benefit battery-powered devices by extending operating life.
