1. LCAT1001-10 Substitution Conclusion
Direct substitution is not feasible. Although the attenuation value, power rating, and interface type are identical, the frequency range of the LCAT1001-10 is only DC-3 GHz, which is significantly lower than the original LCAT1005-10's range of DC-18 GHz. In the high-frequency band from 3 GHz to 18 GHz, this attenuator cannot guarantee the specified 10dB attenuation accuracy and 50-ohm impedance matching. This may lead to increased signal reflection, degraded system VSWR, and consequently impact the performance metrics of high-frequency circuits (such as microwave communication, radar, or test systems). In severe cases, mismatch could introduce additional insertion loss or even damage sensitive components.
2. LCAT1000-10 Substitution Conclusion
Substitution is conditionally viable, dependent on the actual application frequency band. Compared to the original part, the key difference for the LCAT1000-10 is its upper frequency limit of 6 GHz, whereas the original supports 18 GHz. Within the 0-6 GHz range, this part can serve as a qualified substitute. However, if the system operating frequency exceeds 6 GHz, using this attenuator will similarly result in degradation of high-frequency performance, including reduced attenuation accuracy and poorer VSWR. Substitution should only be considered if it is confirmed that the system's maximum operating frequency does not exceed 6 GHz.
