1. AD8028ARZ-REEL Substitution Conclusion
The AD8028ARZ-REEL can be considered a conditional substitute. Its key advantages are significantly higher bandwidth (190 MHz vs. 2.1 MHz) and slew rate (100 V/µs vs. 5 V/µs), making it suitable for high-speed signal processing. However, its input bias current (4 µA vs. 1 pA) is six orders of magnitude larger, which precludes its use in low-frequency applications extremely sensitive to input current, such as high-impedance sensor interfaces or precision integrators. Additionally, its supply range (2.7–12 V) is compatible with the original part (6.5–10 V), and it offers stronger output current drive (120 mA vs. 15 mA). Note that its power consumption is slightly higher, and system requirements regarding noise, power dissipation, and potential stability (due to the higher bandwidth) must be carefully evaluated.
2. AD8028ARZ-REEL7 Substitution Conclusion
The AD8028ARZ-REEL7 is the same die as the AD8028ARZ-REEL but supplied in reel packaging. Therefore, its technical parameters and substitution conclusion are identical: it is a conditional replacement option suitable for applications demanding high speed and strong output drive. Its very high input bias current (4 µA) severely limits its use in ultra-low-input-current applications such as photodetection or chemical sensing. Furthermore, the high bandwidth may introduce additional high-frequency noise. The original circuit’s sensitivity to bandwidth and input current must be assessed. If the original system relies on pA-level input bias current, this substitution is not viable.
