1. LM358ADR2G Substitution Conclusion
Direct substitution is not viable. The primary differences lie in the fact that the LM358ADR2G's gain-bandwidth product (1 MHz) is significantly lower than that of the MUSES8820E (11 MHz), and its slew rate (typically ~0.6 V/µs) is markedly lower than the original part’s 5 V/µs. This means that when processing audio signals, its high-frequency response and transient response capability are severely inadequate, likely resulting in loss of audio detail and dynamic distortion. Furthermore, its input offset voltage (2 mV) is an order of magnitude higher than that of the original part (300 µV), introducing greater DC error and degrading the precision and noise performance of the audio amplifier. Although its lower supply voltage limit (3 V) and lower quiescent current (800 µA) make it suitable for low-power general-purpose applications, these advantages cannot compensate for its critical shortcomings in audio-specific performance.
2. LM258DG4 Substitution Conclusion
Direct substitution is not feasible. The core gap between this part and the MUSES8820E likewise manifests in bandwidth and speed: its gain-bandwidth product (1.1 MHz) and slew rate (0.3 V/µs) are both far below those of the audio-dedicated part, making it entirely unable to meet the requirements for wide bandwidth and high slew rate in audio signal processing. In an actual audio circuit, this would cause severe high-frequency attenuation and transient distortion. At the same time, its input offset voltage (3 mV) is ten times larger than that of the original part, leading to a significant increase in output DC offset and impairing signal fidelity. Although the LM258DG4 offers advantages in general-purpose design such as low quiescent current (500 µA) and a wide supply range (3–32 V), these characteristics are insufficient to offset its deficiencies in key audio parameters; therefore, it is not suitable as a replacement for a high-performance audio operational amplifier.
