1. MC34072DR2G Substitution Conclusion
Direct substitution with the MC34072DR2G is essentially not feasible. While it offers a wider supply voltage range (3-44V) and slightly lower power consumption, its core input stage technology (standard BJT vs. J-FET) and performance class differ fundamentally from the original part. Its input bias current of 100nA is over eight orders of magnitude higher than the original's 0.3pA, rendering it unusable in any circuit requiring high input impedance and low input current, such as those with photoelectric sensors or high-value voltage dividers, where it would introduce significant error. Furthermore, its input offset voltage (1mV) and gain-bandwidth product (4.5MHz) are markedly inferior to the original specifications. This will directly result in severely degraded DC accuracy and AC bandwidth performance in the circuit.
2. AD8512BRZ-REEL Substitution Conclusion
The AD8512BRZ-REEL is a viable substitute with comparable, and in some parameters superior, performance, provided its supply voltage limitation (10-30V) is met. As a fellow J-FET input amplifier, it shares the same excellent order of magnitude for the critical low-input-current characteristic (25pA vs. the original's 0.3pA), making it suitable for high-impedance applications. Its lower input offset voltage (80µV) can contribute to improved DC accuracy. Its bandwidth (8MHz) and slew rate (20V/µs) are comparable to the original part. The primary differentiator is its narrower supply voltage range (10-30V) compared to the original (9-40V). It is therefore not suitable for applications requiring voltages above 30V or strict wide-supply operation. Within its applicable voltage range, however, it serves as a high-performance alternative.
