1. ISL28213FBZ-T7 Substitution Conclusion
Direct substitution is not recommended. While both devices share the same package (8-SOIC) and supply voltage range (~1.8 V to 5.5 V), and the ISL28213 offers a significantly better input offset voltage (500 µV) compared to the original part (3 mV)—benefiting precision DC applications—its key limitation lies in the output drive capability. At 22 mA, it is substantially lower than the original’s 72 mA. This makes it unsuitable for driving low‑impedance loads or applications requiring higher output current, where it may either fail to operate or exhibit severe performance degradation. Additionally, its quiescent current (90 µA) is nearly double that of the original (50 µA), which is unfavorable for battery‑powered or other ultra‑low‑power designs. This device should only be considered for very light‑load signal‑chain applications that are sensitive to offset voltage but have relaxed requirements on output current and power consumption.
2. ISL28214FBZ-T7 Substitution Conclusion
This part can serve as a performance‑upgrade substitute, but power consumption must be carefully evaluated. Although its bandwidth (5 MHz vs. 2.4 MHz), slew rate (2.5 V/µs vs. 1.1 V/µs), and output drive capability (31 mA vs. 72 mA) still fall short of the original specifications, they represent a significant improvement over the ISL28213. At the same time, it retains the precision advantage of a low input offset voltage (500 µV), making it better suited for signal‑conditioning scenarios that demand higher speed and accuracy. The most notable drawback is its quiescent current of 300 µA, which is six times that of the original (50 µA). In continuously‑operated battery‑powered applications, this will substantially reduce battery life. If the higher power dissipation is acceptable in exchange for improved AC performance and precision, the ISL28214 can be considered as an upgrade replacement.
