The ISL28134 offers a performance upgrade, featuring a wider supply voltage range (2.25V to 6V), higher bandwidth (3.5 MHz vs. 2 MHz), lower input offset voltage (0.2 µV vs. 2 µV), and stronger output drive capability (65 mA). These advantages translate to superior dynamic performance, DC accuracy, and load-driving capacity compared to the original part. However, one critical difference requires careful evaluation. The ISL28134's input bias current (120 pA) is significantly higher than that of the MCP6V28T-E/SN (7 pA). In applications with extremely high source impedance, such as photodiode transimpedance amplification, this elevated bias current can introduce greater current noise and offset errors, potentially making the substitution incompatible.
