1. LM2904WYPT Substitution Conclusion Not recommended as a direct replacement. Although both are dual operational amplifiers with similar bandwidth, their core input-stage architectures (standard amplifier vs. J-FET) and key parameters differ significantly. The input bias current of the LM2904WYPT (20 nA) is 4000 times higher than that of the OPA2137 (5 pA), which would introduce substantial errors in applications requiring high input impedance and low input current, such as photodetection or precision integrator circuits. Its slew rate (0.6 V/µs) is also considerably lower than that of the OPA2137 (3.5 V/µs), resulting in much slower large-signal dynamic response and potential waveform distortion. Additionally, its output drive capability (40 mA) is slightly weaker. It may only be considered as a lower-cost alternative in general-purpose amplification or comparator applications that do not rely on the ultra-low input current characteristics of a JFET and have relaxed dynamic response requirements.
2. LM2904AYPT Substitution Conclusion Also not recommended as a direct replacement. The main difference between the LM2904AYPT and the WYPT variant is its improved input offset voltage (1 mV), which is closer to that of the OPA2137 (1.5 mV). However, this does not address the fundamental suitability issue. Sharing the same standard amplifier architecture as the WYPT, it still exhibits very high input bias current (20 nA) and low slew rate (0.6 V/µs). These fundamental differences prevent it from handling the high-impedance signal sources and low-leakage precision applications for which the original J-FET amplifier is intended. Although its DC precision is slightly better than that of the WYPT, it remains unsuitable as a replacement for the OPA2137 and can only be considered as an alternative in the same limited general-purpose scenarios mentioned above.
