The TL431ACZ can directly replace the TL431ACLP. Both are adjustable shunt voltage references with ±1% initial accuracy, a 2.495V reference voltage, and 100mA output current. The only distinction lies in the package designation (TO-226-2 vs. TO-226-3); however, the actual physical package for both is TO-92-3 with identical pinouts, ensuring no impact on mechanical assembly or electrical connection. Direct substitution is acceptable in applications without specific requirements for noise or temperature coefficient.
2. TL1431IZ Substitution Conclusion
The TL1431IZ can conditionally replace the TL431ACLP. It offers superior performance with higher initial accuracy (±0.4%) and a specified temperature coefficient (100ppm/°C). Two key differences must be considered: First, the TL1431IZ requires a higher minimum cathode operating current (1mA vs. 600µA). If the original circuit operates near the lower current limit, resistor values may need adjustment. Second, its nominal reference voltage is slightly adjusted to 2.5V, which remains within the original part's tolerance band. Substitution is viable in applications with sufficient supply current and tolerance for minor reference voltage shift, and it can enhance overall system accuracy and temperature stability.
