1. TL074BCD Substitution Conclusion
The TL074BCD is an upgraded variant within the same family as the TL074CD. Both share identical core parameters—J-FET inputs, 5.25 MHz bandwidth, 13 V/µs slew rate, and a 10–30 V supply range—with the only improvement being a reduction in input offset voltage from 3 mV to 2 mV. The package remains 14-SOIC. The TL074BCD offers slightly better DC precision while maintaining full electrical and pin compatibility. It can directly replace the original part without circuit modifications, making it an ideal drop‑in upgrade.
2. LM2902DR2G Substitution Conclusion
Although the LM2902DR2G is also a quad op‑amp in the same package, it is a bipolar‑input general‑purpose amplifier, fundamentally different from the J‑FET architecture of the original device. Its input bias current is 90 nA (significantly higher than the TL074’s 65 pA), bandwidth is only 1 MHz (versus 5.25 MHz for the TL074), and slew rate is unspecified (typically much lower). It does support a wider supply range of 3–32 V. In applications requiring high input impedance, low bias current, or higher frequency response—such as sensor amplification or active filtering—the LM2902DR2G may not meet performance requirements. It is suitable only for general‑purpose, low‑speed, higher‑power applications where input impedance is not critical. Substitution should be accompanied by a thorough reevaluation of circuit performance.
