1. AD629ARZ Substitution Conclusion
The AD629ARZ is not recommended as a direct replacement. While its supply voltage range and package are compatible, there are significant differences in key performance parameters: Its input offset voltage (200µV) is double that of the original part (100µV), which introduces greater DC error. Its bandwidth (500kHz) and slew rate (2.1V/µs) are far lower than the original's (3.1MHz, 14V/µs), resulting in slower signal processing and making it unsuitable for high-frequency or fast transient signals. Furthermore, its 25mA output drive capability is less than half of the original's (60mA), indicating weaker load-driving capacity. Most critically, the AD629 is a difference amplifier optimized for current sensing (high common-mode voltage input), featuring an internal precision gain resistor network. Its functional purpose and typical applications (e.g., motor control, power supply monitoring) are fundamentally different from those of a general-purpose difference amplifier like the INA154. Pin functions may also differ. A direct substitution could lead to circuit malfunction.
2. AD629BRZ Substitution Conclusion
The AD629BRZ can be considered for substitution under specific conditions but is not a direct drop-in replacement. Its primary advantage is an input offset voltage (100µV) matching the original part, ensuring equivalent DC accuracy. However, it shares the same fundamental limitations as the AD629ARZ: its bandwidth (500kHz) and slew rate (2.1V/µs) are severely inadequate for the high-speed signal processing the original part was designed for, and its output drive current (25mA) is also lower. It is only suitable for applications with low bandwidth and slew rate requirements, where the core function is differential measurement or current sensing under high common-mode voltage. If the original circuit uses the INA154 for general-purpose, low-frequency differential amplification and a performance downgrade is acceptable, it may be used after carefully verifying pinout, supply, gain configuration, and modifying the circuit accordingly. For any high-speed application in the original design, it is not a viable substitute.
