1. AD629BRZ-R7 Substitution Conclusion The AD629BRZ-R7 cannot serve as a universal drop-in replacement for the INA154U/2K5. The fundamental distinction lies in device type and application focus: the INA154 is a general-purpose differential operational amplifier, whereas the AD629 is a dedicated current-sense amplifier. This results in significant differences in key dynamic performance parameters. The AD629's bandwidth (500 kHz) and slew rate (2.1 V/µs) are substantially lower than those of the INA154 (3.1 MHz, 14 V/µs). Consequently, the AD629 cannot handle medium-to-high-frequency or rapidly changing analog signals that the INA154 is capable of processing; it is suitable only for DC or low-frequency current-sensing applications. Simultaneously, the AD629 offers lower quiescent current (900 µA vs. 2.4 mA) and a wider minimum supply voltage (5 V vs. 8 V), providing advantages in low-power and single-supply systems. However, its output drive capability is also weaker (25 mA vs. 60 mA). The feasibility of substitution is highly application-dependent. Replacement may be considered only in scenarios involving DC or low-frequency differential signals with no bandwidth or speed requirements, particularly for current sensing under high common-mode voltages. For general-purpose, wide-bandwidth differential signal amplification and processing, the AD629 cannot meet the performance requirements.
