1. AD823AARZ Substitution Conclusion
Direct substitution is not recommended. The AD823AARZ is a JFET-input operational amplifier featuring an extremely low input bias current (1.3 pA), making it suitable for high-impedance sensor signal conditioning. However, its input offset voltage (800 µV) is significantly higher than that of the original part (100 µV), resulting in poorer accuracy. Additionally, while its slew rate (35 V/µs) and bandwidth (10 MHz) far exceed those of the OPA2251 (0.01 V/µs, 35 kHz), its quiescent current (6.3 mA per channel) is two orders of magnitude higher, leading to a substantial increase in power consumption. In applications where the original design relies on low power consumption, limited bandwidth, and high input accuracy—such as low-frequency precision measurement or battery-powered systems—using the AD823AARZ may cause degraded accuracy, excessive power draw, and potential stability issues (e.g., increased noise susceptibility or oscillation risk due to excessive bandwidth).
2. ADA4084-2ARMZ-R7 Substitution Conclusion
Conditional substitution is feasible, but system compatibility must be evaluated. The ADA4084-2ARMZ-R7, like the original part, is a general-purpose op-amp, offering higher bandwidth (15.9 MHz) and slew rate (4.6 V/µs) for faster signal response. Its input offset voltage (60 µV) is better than that of the original device; however, its input bias current (140 nA) is relatively high and may introduce errors in high-impedance circuits. The main differences lie in its quiescent current (625 µA per channel), which is about 23 times that of the OPA2251 (27 µA per channel), leading to significantly higher power consumption, and its smaller 8-MSOP package, which requires PCB layout adjustments.
