1. OPA177GS/2K5 Substitution Conclusion The OPA177GS/2K5 cannot directly replace the AD8421ARZ-R7 due to fundamental differences in core architecture and key dynamic performance. The AD8421 is an instrumentation amplifier featuring internal precision-matched resistors that deliver high common-mode rejection ratio (CMRR), making it suitable for direct connection to sensors for differential signal amplification. In contrast, the OPA177 is a general-purpose operational amplifier requiring external circuitry to implement differential amplification. Moreover, its bandwidth (600 kHz versus 10 MHz) and slew rate (0.3 V/µs versus 35 V/µs) are significantly lower than those of the AD8421. As a result, the OPA177 cannot handle high-frequency or fast-changing signals and would introduce severe distortion in applications demanding high dynamic response. Additionally, the AD8421 supports a lower single-supply voltage (5 V versus 6 V), offering better compatibility in low-voltage systems. Although the OPA177 shows slight advantages in certain static parameters such as input bias current and offset voltage, these do not compensate for its inherent architectural and frequency-response limitations.
