1. LMV321IDBVT Substitution Conclusion The LMV321IDBVT can serve as a direct replacement for the LPV321M5X/NOPB, though the trade-off between improved performance and increased power consumption must be considered. Both devices share the same SOT-23-5 package (pin-compatible) and have similar supply voltage ranges. The key differences lie in the LMV321IDBVT’s significantly higher bandwidth (1 MHz vs. 152 kHz) and slew rate (1 V/µs vs. 0.1 V/µs), making it suitable for higher-frequency or fast-signal applications. However, its quiescent current (130 µA vs. 9 µA) is approximately 14 times higher, which may substantially increase power consumption in battery-powered systems. The input bias current (15 nA vs. 2 nA) is slightly higher but generally acceptable for most precision applications. If the application requires higher speed and can tolerate the increased power draw, direct substitution is feasible. If the original design relies on ultra-low power operation, a re-evaluation is recommended.
2. LMV321IDCKT Substitution Conclusion The LMV321IDCKT is electrically identical to the LMV321IDBVT but comes in the smaller SC-70-5 (SOT-353) package, which is not footprint-compatible with the original SOT-23-5. Therefore, it cannot be used as a drop-in replacement. Its high bandwidth, high slew rate, and high quiescent current characteristics are the same as described above. This device can only be considered as an alternative if the PCB can be redesigned to accommodate the smaller package and the system demands higher speed while accepting the power penalty. If maintaining the original package is required, this substitution is not viable.
