1. LMX321ICT Substitution Conclusion
The LMX321ICT matches the original LMV931MG in package compatibility (both SC70-5) and maximum supply voltage (5.5V). However, it is not a direct, fully compatible substitute due to three critical performance differences.
First, the LMX321ICT's minimum operating voltage is 2.3V, compared to 1.8V for the LMV931MG. This precludes its use in any original design operating below 2.3V.
Second, its input offset voltage is significantly higher at 4mV (versus 1mV for the LMV931MG). This degrades DC precision, making it unsuitable for high-accuracy signal conditioning applications.
Third, its output drive capability is reduced to 70mA from the LMV931MG's 100mA, a decrease of approximately 30%. This lower drive current may impair performance when driving low-impedance loads.
While the LMX321ICT offers a higher slew rate (0.7V/µs) and similar quiescent current (130µA), it has slightly lower bandwidth (1.3MHz) and higher input bias current (27nA). Consequently, it is only suitable for non-critical circuits with relaxed requirements for supply voltage, precision, and load-driving capability. Thorough system validation is essential prior to substitution.
