1. TL074BCDT Substitution Conclusion
As a JFET-input operational amplifier from the same series, the TL074BCDT represents a conditional substitute with compromises in key performance parameters. Its input offset voltage (1mV) is notably higher than the original part (500µV), which may introduce greater error in applications demanding high DC precision. Furthermore, its output drive current (40mA) is only half that of the original (80mA), reducing its capability to drive low-impedance loads. Its primary advantage lies in its extremely low quiescent current (1.4mA vs. 8.4mA), making it highly suitable for low-power designs. Its gain bandwidth product (3MHz) and supply voltage range (±18V) remain comparable. Substitution can be considered if the application does not have stringent requirements for DC accuracy and output current, but prioritizes low power consumption.
2. TS514IDT Substitution Conclusion
This part is a general-purpose standard amplifier, and its core characteristics differ drastically from the original JFET-input amplifier, making substitution largely unfeasible. The most critical discrepancy is its input bias current of 50nA, which is three orders of magnitude greater than the original's 30pA. This renders it completely unsuitable for applications involving high-impedance signal sources (e.g., sensors, photodiodes), where it would introduce significant error. Additionally, its slew rate (1.5V/µs) is far lower than the original's (17.8V/µs), preventing it from handling mid-to-high frequency or fast-changing signals and resulting in severely inadequate dynamic performance. While its supply current is exceptionally low, this comes at the cost of sacrificing the high input impedance and high-speed performance characteristic of JFET amplifiers. It is only applicable to ordinary low-frequency circuits where these two performance aspects are not required.
