1. TL072ACDT Substitution Conclusion
Based on a comparison of key technical parameters, directly substituting TL072ACDT for the TL3472CD carries significant risks and is not recommended. The differences are as follows: First, the TL072ACDT features a J-FET input stage, whose input bias current (20 pA) is substantially lower than the BJT input of the original part (100 nA). This results in extremely low input current error in high-impedance source applications, which is an advantage. However, second, its input offset voltage (3 mV) is three times that of the original part (1 mV), which may introduce significant error in applications requiring high DC precision. Third, and most critically, its minimum operating voltage is 6 V, whereas the original part supports operation down to 4 V. Any existing circuit operating within the 4–6 V range (e.g., a single-supply 5 V system) will fail to operate the TL072ACDT correctly. Although it offers a slightly higher slew rate and is AEC-Q100 automotive qualified, the fundamental incompatibility in supply voltage typically precludes it from being a direct drop-in replacement.
2. BA3472F-E2 Substitution Conclusion
The BA3472F-E2 presents a viable alternative to the TL3472CD, but its suitability for a specific application should be verified prior to substitution. The differences include: its slew rate (10 V/µs) is slightly lower than the original's (13 V/µs), resulting in marginally weaker transient response when handling high-frequency, large-signal waveforms; its input offset voltage (1.5 mV) is slightly higher than the original's (1 mV), which may require attention in ultra-high-precision applications; and its quiescent current (4 mA) is somewhat higher. Its core parameters, however—such as gain bandwidth product (4 MHz), input bias current (100 nA), and wide supply voltage range (3–36 V, fully covering and exceeding the original's 4–36 V)—closely match the original part, ensuring good functional compatibility. Note that its package body width (4.40 mm) is slightly larger than the original SOIC package (3.90 mm); PCB layout must be checked to confirm adequate mounting space.
