1. MCP6291T-E/SN Substitution Conclusion Direct substitution is not recommended. While the MCP6291T-E/SN is comparable to the TLV2621IDR in basic specifications such as bandwidth, slew rate, and package, its input offset voltage is as high as 3 mV—12 times that of the original part (250 µV). In applications requiring high DC precision, such as sensor signal conditioning or precision measurement, this will introduce significant zero-point error and may severely degrade system accuracy. Additionally, its quiescent current (1 mA) is higher than that of the original device (800 µA), which is undesirable for power-sensitive designs.
2. MCP6021T-E/SN Substitution Conclusion This device can serve as a suitable replacement in most applications. The MCP6021T-E/SN matches the TLV2621IDR in key dynamic performance parameters (gain-bandwidth product, slew rate) and package, and offers even lower input bias current. The main difference lies in its input offset voltage of 500 µV, which is twice that of the original part. However, this remains within acceptable limits for many general-purpose precision applications and will not cause catastrophic errors.
