1. AD8542ARZ-REEL Substitution Conclusion This part is not recommended as a direct substitute. While it is package-compatible and also features rail-to-rail output, two critical differences render it unsuitable for most original design scenarios. First, its minimum operating voltage is 2.7V, whereas the original part can operate down to 1.8V. This makes it potentially unable to start up or function in the original low-voltage systems, such as those powered by a single cell. Second, its quiescent current is 45µA per channel, which is 75 times higher than the original part's 600nA. This is a fatal flaw for applications emphasizing micropower operation, like smoke detectors or long-term battery-powered devices, as it would drastically reduce battery life. Its higher bandwidth (1MHz vs. 10kHz) and slew rate (0.92V/µs vs. 0.003V/µs) are performance advantages, but they cannot compensate for these fundamental mismatches in supply voltage and power consumption.
2. AD8606ARZ Substitution Conclusion This part is also not recommended as a direct substitute. Despite offering significant performance advantages (10MHz bandwidth, 5V/µs slew rate, and an extremely low 80µV offset voltage) and being package-compatible, its key parameters are fundamentally misaligned with the original design goals. First, similar to the AD8542, its minimum operating voltage of 2.7V cannot cover the original part's 1.8V low-voltage applications. This completely undermines the "ultra-low power" core positioning of the original device. It is only suitable for applications where power consumption is not a primary concern and high performance is required.
