1. TMP75AID Substitution Conclusion The TMP75AID can serve as a direct replacement for the original TCN75-5.0MOA713, but three key differences must be considered. First, the temperature range of the TMP75AID is narrower at the lower end (–40 °C compared to –55 °C for the TCN75). Applications requiring operation below –40 °C are therefore not feasible with the TMP75AID. Second, regarding accuracy and test conditions: the TMP75AID offers a higher typical accuracy (±2 °C vs. ±3 °C) over the –25 °C to 85 °C range. However, its full-temperature-range accuracy is specified as ±3 °C. In contrast, the TCN75’s ±3 °C accuracy corresponds to a test condition of 25 °C to 100 °C. Within typical industrial temperature ranges, the TMP75AID may deliver better performance, but its actual error under extreme temperatures should be verified. Third, the TMP75AID provides 11‑bit resolution, a significant improvement over the TCN75’s 8‑bit resolution. This enables finer temperature data (0.125 °C per LSB), which benefits high‑precision monitoring systems. Additionally, the TMP75AID introduces “One‑Shot” and “Programmable Resolution” features, enhancing low‑power design flexibility. Both devices are fully compatible in package, supply voltage, and I²C interface. Provided the system operates above –40 °C and can tolerate the potential full‑range accuracy variation, the TMP75AID represents a performance‑enhanced alternative.
