1. LM258PT Substitution Conclusion Direct substitution is not recommended. The LM258PT exhibits a significant performance gap compared to the original BA4580RFVT-E2 in key dynamic parameters: its gain-bandwidth product (1.1 MHz vs. 5 MHz) and slew rate (0.6 V/µs vs. 4 V/µs) are substantially lower. When processing higher-frequency or fast-changing signals, the LM258PT's response will be severely inadequate, potentially leading to signal distortion or extended settling time. Furthermore, its input offset voltage (5 mV vs. 500 µV) is ten times higher, which would introduce significant DC error in applications requiring high precision, such as sensor amplification or precision measurement. Although it offers lower power consumption and automotive-grade qualification, its core performance metrics fail to meet the original design's requirements for bandwidth and speed. Consequently, it is unsuitable for the application originally intended for the BA4580.
2. LM358PT Substitution Conclusion Direct substitution is similarly not advised. The LM358PT's performance specifications are highly similar to those of the LM258PT. Its gain-bandwidth product (800 kHz) and slew rate (0.6 V/µs) are also far inferior to the original BA4580, rendering it incapable of meeting circuit demands for bandwidth and transient response. Although its input offset voltage (2 mV) is better than the LM258PT's, it remains four times higher than the BA4580's, which would directly degrade system accuracy in precision applications. Its advantages likewise lie in low power consumption and automotive-grade reliability. However, as a substitute, its severe degradation in dynamic performance (bandwidth is only 16% of the original) is the decisive limiting factor. This would significantly alter the original circuit's frequency response and signal fidelity, making the substitution unfeasible.
