In an identical application circuit, this substitution will introduce a minor shift in the actual output voltage (typically less than 1%). For the vast majority of applications where absolute precision is not critical—such as error detection or general-purpose comparison—this effect is negligible, and a direct replacement is acceptable. However, if the device is used in a high-precision voltage divider network, it is recommended to recalculate or fine-tune the feedback resistor values based on the new Iref to eliminate systematic error.
