1. LTC6087HMS8PBF Substitution Conclusion
From a direct drop-in replacement perspective, the LTC6087HMS8PBF can be considered a high-performance upgrade alternative to the OPA2316IDGKR, but the power supply voltage and power consumption compatibility require critical evaluation. Both parts are dual-channel, CMOS, rail-to-rail operational amplifiers with compatible packages (8-MSOP). The key differences are as follows: The LTC6087 offers superior bandwidth (14 MHz vs. 10 MHz) and slew rate (7.2 V/µs vs. 6 V/µs), making it suitable for higher-frequency or fast transient signal processing. Its input bias current (1 pA vs. 5 pA) and offset voltage (330 µV vs. 500 µV) are also better, which is advantageous for high-precision sensor amplification. However, the LTC6087 has a higher minimum operating voltage (2.7 V vs. 1.8 V), preventing its use in low-voltage applications from 1.8V to 2.7V. Furthermore, its quiescent current is significantly higher (1.05 mA per dual channel vs. 0.4 mA per dual channel), which may render it unsuitable for battery-powered or low-power designs. If the system supply voltage is ≥2.7V and the increased power dissipation is acceptable, the LTC6087 can deliver superior performance. Otherwise, retaining the original part or seeking another alternative compatible with low-voltage, low-power operation is necessary.
