LM2904DRG3 Substitution Conclusion The LM2904DRG3, a general-purpose operational amplifier, is generally not a viable direct substitute for the high-performance voltage-feedback amplifier AD8022ARZ-REEL. The feasibility of such a replacement is extremely low. The core reason lies in the order-of-magnitude gap in their key high-speed performance specifications: the AD8022's gain-bandwidth product (100 MHz) and slew rate (50 V/µs) are approximately 140 times and over 160 times greater, respectively, than those of the LM2904 (700 kHz, 0.3 V/µs). The LM2904 is entirely incapable of handling the high-speed application requirements of the original part, such as mid-to-high frequency signal amplification, fast transient response, video processing, ADC driving, or high-speed filtering. Furthermore, while the LM2904 offers advantages in input bias current (20 nA vs. 2.5 µA) and quiescent current (500 µA/ch vs. 4 mA total), making it more suitable for low-frequency, low-power sensor or DC signal conditioning applications, these benefits cannot compensate for its fundamental limitations in bandwidth and speed as a low-speed amplifier. Forcing a substitution would directly result in severe degradation of the system's frequency response, signal distortion, or even functional failure.
