1. OPA703NA/250 Substitution Conclusion Direct substitution is not viable. The OPA703NA/250 and the original part, the LT1803IS5, exhibit a generational gap in key performance metrics, belonging to fundamentally different operational amplifier categories. The critical differences are as follows: 1) Bandwidth and Slew Rate: The OPA703 features a gain-bandwidth product of merely 1 MHz and a slew rate of 0.6 V/µs. These parameters are drastically inferior to the LT1803's 83 MHz and 88 V/µs. Consequently, the OPA703 is entirely incapable of handling mid-to-high frequency or fast-slewing signals. Substituting it in applications originally designed for the LT1803—such as video buffering, high-speed signal conditioning, or ADC driving—will result in severe signal distortion or system failure. 2) Supply Voltage Range: The OPA703 requires a minimum supply voltage of 4V, which is higher than the LT1803's 2.3V minimum. This disqualifies the OPA703 for use in systems powered by a single lithium-ion cell (3V) or other lower-voltage supplies. 3) Quiescent Current: The OPA703's 160 µA quiescent current is significantly lower than the LT1803's 2.5 mA. While this is an advantage for the OPA703, it is only relevant in applications with extreme power sensitivity and extremely low signal frequencies (e.g., DC sensing). Unless the application is strictly limited to ultra-low-frequency, high-precision DC signal processing and the supply voltage is compatible, the OPA703NA/250 is not a suitable replacement.
2. OPA703NA/3K Substitution Conclusion Direct substitution is not viable, as its electrical performance is identical to the OPA703NA/250. The OPA703NA/3K and OPA703NA/250 are the same die in different packaging/reel quantities ('3K' denotes 3000 units per reel). All their technical specifications are identical; therefore, the comparison conclusion against the original LT1803IS5 is exactly the same as stated above. The /250 and /3K suffixes refer solely to packaging and procurement quantity, not performance differences. Their core incompatibilities with the LT1803 remain the critically low bandwidth/slew rate (1 MHz / 0.6 V/µs vs. 83 MHz / 88 V/µs) and the higher minimum operating voltage (4V vs. 2.3V). These characteristics definitively preclude their use in the high-speed signal processing applications for which the LT1803 is intended. They could only be considered as functionally dissimilar alternatives in specific low-frequency, low-power scenarios. Thus, the overall conclusion remains: they are not substitutable.
